Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway

At 3 pm on June 30th, 2011, the 1,318-kilometer-long Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway was officially opened. The shortest travel time of the 300 km/h EMU train from Beijing to Shanghai is only 4 hours 48 minutes. It is the longest-running high-speed railway in the world with 1,318 km long. Facing the major scientific problems of the world's long-distance operation, the arduousness, complexity, and particularity of the high-speed railway are unprecedented.

Engineering data overview:

Line length: 1318 km, equivalent to half of the total mileage of the Shinkansen.

Total investment: RMB 220.94 billion, exceeding the Three Gorges Dam Project.

Consumables: 7.35 million tons of steel, equivalent to 10 times of Three Gorges Dam Project;  44.18 million tons of cement, equivalent to 6 times of Three Gorges Dam Project.

Construction workers: 114,000 people work on construction routes with over 1,200 km long everyday.

Station project: 21 high-speed railway stations need to be built or renovated, and Beijing South Railway Station, Nanjing South Railway Station and Shanghai Hongqiao Station are among the best in the world.

Civil engineering(which Rapid Scaffolding participated in): Need to pour concrete to more than 29,000 H-type elevated bridge piers in 12m high and each box beam with 32m long and 900 tons.

Railway Track system: need to be laid 40,000+ pieces of 5-meter-grade ballastless board and 320,000 tons high-speed rails. It’s total length is more than 5,000 kilometers.

Rapid Scaffolding was operated as shoring system in civil engineering of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway.
